Our Chairman, Eyyüp Ergan, expressed his reaction to the recent injustices against Trabzonspor, calling on everyone to act to rescue Turkish football from the chaos it has fallen into. In his written statement, Chairman Ergan shared the following views:
"Trabzonspor, a club that has achieved great success in Turkish football, stands as one of the world's greatest city teams and a source of identity for every Trabzon native. Unfortunately, another injustice was added last weekend during the Fenerbahçe match.
By appointing referees who lack competence and cannot handle their responsibilities, and by deliberately removing justice from football, those conducting operations against Trabzonspor are dealing a significant blow not only to our club but also to Turkish football as a whole.
We strongly condemn these deliberate actions, which target our club with millions of supporters, as operations against Trabzonspor. We consider these injustices not only as an attack on our team but also as an insult to Turkish football and to Trabzon itself.
Meanwhile, we fully support the efforts and measures taken by Trabzonspor's management to create a debt-free club during a time when most clubs are drowning in debt.
We especially commend the decision to exit the agreement with the Banks Association, saving our club from paying approximately 700 million TL in annual interest. This is a significant milestone, and we extend our gratitude to those who made it possible.
In conclusion, we call on everyone to act urgently to resolve the chaos in Turkish football. Moreover, we emphasize the importance of unity and solidarity during Trabzonspor’s upcoming Congress to stand as one united body."
