President Ergan’s Message on the 18th of March Çanakkale Naval Victory

Our Chairman of the Board, Eyyüp Ergan, issued a message on the occasion of March 18th Martyrs' Remembrance Day and the 110th Anniversary of the Çanakkale Naval Victory.

In his message, President Ergan emphasized that the Çanakkale Victory is not only one of the greatest victories in the Turkish nation’s struggle for independence but also serves as an inspiration for all oppressed nations that were targeted by imperialist forces. He stated:"The Battle of Çanakkale was not just a battle; it was a struggle for existence, a victory of perseverance and faith, where a nation was reborn from its ashes. Our National Poet, Mehmet Akif Ersoy, described this legendary victory with the lines:

'Struck down, lying there with a pure forehead so clean, Oh Lord, how many suns have set for the sake of a crescent.'

Our ancestors engraved this victory into history with their blood, and it changed the course of the world. These lands were not easily won. Despite great hardships, the Turkish Army fought with immense courage and heroism, earning an honorable place in the annals of military history.

Therefore, we must recognize the value of the land we live on and protect this sacred trust passed down to us. We must never give an opportunity to those who covet our homeland, and we must strive to be worthy of our glorious ancestors. That is why we must work hard and produce abundantly.

On the occasion of March 18th Martyrs' Remembrance Day and the 110th Anniversary of the Çanakkale Naval Victory, I commemorate with mercy, gratitude, and respect our esteemed martyrs, especially the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk."
